A Windows reinstall may be necessary after a
hard drive failure,
Windows fails to boot, or you were infected by a
nasty virus.
Here is the general process:
Hard drive test – Before installing, we can perform a hard drive test to make sure there are no problems detected. OneGeek stocks a variety of desktop, laptop, and solid state hard drives to expedite repairs.
Backup Files – You are also given the option to have all of your files backed up. We back up the entire computer so that you don’t risk losing your documents, pictures, music, email, email addresses, and favorites.
Reinstall Windows – Programs, viruses, and junk are removed from the computer. This is called formatting the computer. Windows is installed using the key code from the sticker on your computer. Updates and drivers are installed.
Restore Files – Files are restored back into the correct locations. The amount of time varies depending on the size of your files.
Install programs and setup email – Additionally, we can assist to install other programs or set up your email. We can also return the computer to your home or business to set up the Internet, email, printers, and answer any questions that you may have. Typically many customers will try to handle this themselves vs returning the PC, but we can normally do this at your location if that would be more convenient for you!
